Digital Bangladesh has become a popular concept among the common people of Bangladesh since 2008. Bangladesh Awami League in its election manifesto (2008) highlighted this issue to turn Bangladesh, one of the world's least developed countries, into a digitally developed nation by 2021. But, the main challenge in this regard seemed to be the shortage of a manpower having ICT based knowledge. To overcome this problem the idea of establishing a digital university in the country was a crying need. Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, thus, enacted a Law to establish Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Digital University, Bangladesh in 2016. The university starts its journey by initiating student admissions in undergraduate program in 2019, although still it is struggling to ensure a healthy academic environment especially due to the absence of its permanent campus on its own land. However, the university authority is trying heart and soul to develop a quality academic environment by using affordable financial resources. I strongly believe that by implementing cost effective plans for the development of a healthy academic environment the university authority will be able to ensure a quality education that will help producing technically sound and efficient workforce in ICT.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     Professor Dr. Md.
